Book a Quilt
To get started, fill out the form below.
What size should my backing be?
The backing must be 4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 72", your backing should measure at least 68" x 80". It can be bigger, but not smaller. Extra fees may apply if I need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load. If you have questions, please ask.
Your backing must be square - the top and bottom must be straight lines in order to attach the backing to the leaders. The leaders are attached to the quilting frame. Using the example above, the top and bottom of the backing should both measure 68", and the sides 80". The sides should be perpendicular to the top and bottom (at 90 degrees).
If your backing is a sheet, please note that problems with the backing may occur if any quilting stitches need to be picked out. This is primarily due to the finer thread count of sheeting compared to quilting cotton.
Tidy it up!
Please press your top and backing so that they are nice and tidy and ready to load. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads from showing through your quilt top, please don't skip this important step!
Please make a victory lap around the top of the quilt to secure the seams.
Mark the Top
If your quilt top or backing are directional, please mark the top with painter's tape or a safety pin. Straight pins can slip out.
Quilting Choice
You can make all of the quilting decisions, or I can provide some advice and recommend pantographs and thread colours. The choice is yours.
