Semi-Custom Quilting - Temporarily Unavailable
The price ranges from 5 - 9 cents per square inch. Once again, price depends on the density of quilting and the complexity of the designs chosen. Please contact me to discuss your preferences.
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 72 inches. 60 x 72 = 4320 x .045 = $194.40
The minimum quilting charge is $70. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $70 minimum.

Batting
Quilters Dream is my favourite batting. I stock the battings listed below on 92 inch rolls:
-
80/20 cotton/poly blend, in natural
-
100% cotton Select loft, in natural
-
Bamboo, 31.7% bamboo/31.7% tencel/31.6% cotton/5% silk, in natural
-
100% wool, in natural
-
Puff, 100% poly, in natural
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price. Batting prices are subject to change and may not be currently reflected on this page.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + an 8" margin). For example, if you have a 60 inch x 72 inch quilt, 68" of the batting of your choice will be cut for you.
Other battings can be special ordered, or you can provide your own high-quality batting.
68" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.51/in = $34.68
68" of 100% cotton, Select loft @ $0.68/in = $46.24
68" of Bamboo, bamboo/tencel/cotton/silk blend @$0.77/in = $52.36
68" of Wool, 100% wool @$0.94/in = $63.92
68" of Puff, 100% poly @ $0.58/in = $39.44
Thread
I stock primarily Glide #40 weight and some #50 and #60 weight threads from Signature and Hab+Dash. The bobbin thread is usually the same as the top thread, unless you would like something else. Thread is included in the square inch price unless it is specially ordered for your project.
I like to match or blend thread colour with the lighter areas of your quilt as much as possible. The threads I keep in stock are primarily neutral, but other colours can be special ordered to meet your needs. Let me know if you have a preference for thread colour on the intake form.
If I don't have the colour of thread you'd like in stock, it can be special ordered for your project. You will be charged the actual cost of the thread plus applicable shipping and taxes. Small spools of Glide thread currently cost $7 (subject to change due to current economic circumstances).
Photography
Revisiting the beautiful quilts your loving hands have created is a joy, so I like to take photos of the quilts that pass through the workroom with with my phone. On completion of the quilting, I will text/email you those images to use however you would like. Please credit me for the photo and/or quilting if posting publicly. If you would prefer to be surprised, let me know and I will not send you any photos. This service is offered at no charge and is primarily for my own pleasure.
Local Drop off and Pick up, by Appointment Only
Drop off
There is a package drop-box at the front door. Please call or email first to arrange a mutually agreeable time to drop your quilt off. Most of the time, I cannot hear a knock at the door, so please ring the doorbell to let me know your package is there. The drop-box is not secure, but I will immediately fetch your quilt from the box after the doorbell has been rung. Please package your materials adequately to protect against possible moisture or dirt.
Pick up
Once you have paid your invoice, call or email to arrange a pick-up time for your quilt. It will be returned using the packaging you delivered it in. Please ring the doorbell when you arrive so I can deliver your quilt. I mostly do not hear anyone knocking at the door, so ringing the bell is a must.
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Hamilton, ON, Canada, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and clearly labeled.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via Canada Post Priority Mail. Priority Mail comes with $100 of insurance and a tracking number, but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the postal service, but it isn't required.
